Hello! My name is Oliver (he/him). Living as a trans person has a unique set of experiences and challenges that have impacted the way I interact with the world and by default, has also impacted how the world interacts with me. My goal and special interest have always been to work with and help other members of the LGBT+ community, as I know the social and political risks that can come with just being ourselves.

I emphasize and focus on trauma-work with a personal belief that each client should leave a session having processed or learned something about themselves, something for them to contemplate, and something that made the appointment worth coming to.

I take a Health at Every Size approach and specialize in anxiety, bipolar, body dysmorphia, depression, disordered eating, dual diagnosis, gender affirming care, gender dysphoria, relationship concerns, personality disorders, PTSD, sex/intimacy concerns and substance use/addiction. I am a pre-licensed counselor working on obtaining my LPC.

Hello! I’m Moujan (She/Her).

I began transitioning relatively recently, and while it hasn’t been without its difficulties, overall it remains the most positive and fulfilling decision I’ve made in my life. After my bachelor’s degree in psychology, I decided to do a hard pivot to explore what I really wanted out of life and became a carpenter. I completed my training in Pittsburgh, started my own business, and became a commercial travel carpenter before deciding to return to school for my master’s in counseling.

My hobbies include reading, writing, listening to music, and the art of hospitality, which can involve anything from remembering a friend’s favorite flowers to perfecting a new recipe ahead of a potluck. I quite enjoy puttering around, meandering without any intent, and looking at things – art, mushrooms, bugs, neat buildings, anything really. If I could paint, I would paint nothing but clouds. One day, I will learn to paint, and then I will fill my home with clouds, the sky on every wall.

Hello! My name is Avery (she/her), and I’m a fully remote therapist here at Arrive. As queer people, we are often forced to experience our life stories without much opportunity to take a step back and process them. My goal as your counselor is to not only give you the space to hear your story out loud and in context, but to help you feel confident in your role as the author. Throughout our sessions, we will take a look at your story, try to understand how the chapters so far have led you to where you are now, and create a toolkit of creative and tailored skills to help you reach your therapeutic goals. When not at work, I can usually be found writing poetry, recording music, spending time in nature, or binging TV shows with my boyfriend and our cat.

Hi! My name is Elizabeth, but you can call me Liz. I am currently a student at New York University, studying clinical mental health counseling and completing my practicum and internship hours at Arrive Therapy.

In my free time, I listen to music whenever I get the chance. Music is a large part of my life. I frequently attend concerts, keep up with pop culture, and go outdoors, as I am an avid snowboarder!

My name is Dakota, but feel free to call me Dax.

I identify as a transgender man, and my pronouns are he/him/his. I believe therapy is for everyone and that growth is a turbulent process best experienced under the care of a therapist who allows you to be your authentic self. Further, I believe that queer clients deserve specialized, well-informed care that recognizes the nuances involved in queer life, which is what draws me to Arrive Therapy.

I encourage clients to be themselves with me, no matter what that looks like. My goal is to help clients navigate life’s complexities both safely and in a way that promotes positive mental and emotional growth/healing. As a clinician, I am LGBTQ-affirming, body-positive, intersectionally-feminist, kink-knowledgeable, and sex-positive, and I approach every client without judgment.

I am a firm believer in “think globally, act locally.” In my free time, I can be found seated for a film at an indie movie theater, reading at an indie coffee shop or by a body of water, in the stacks of an indie book store, crate-digging at a local record shop, volunteering for queer organizations, at a hardcore show, making music, or at a book club. If I am not in any of those places, I am cuddling my dogs on the couch.
